MOTHER/DAUGHTER ROLE MODELING

Like Mother, Like Daughter
(04/2004)

A study published in the April issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition studied nearly 200 mothers and daughters for five years. About half of the daughters consumed adequate amounts of calcium? and they all had something in common. Their moms drank milk and they were more likely to serve milk at mealtime. They also were less likely to drink sodas or allow their daughters to drink sweetened beverages. The girls who drank milk also had higher bone density, which provides greater protection against fracture risk in adulthood.

Studies suggest the nutrients in 3 glasses of lowfat or fat free milk a day can help maintain a healthy weight, plus the protein, along with exercise, helps build muscle for a lean body. So eat right, move more and milk your diet. Privacy Policy | Sitemap | Contact Us
